St. Augustine's High School, Vasai

After the opening in Dadar, the Brothers started looking for a suitable plot of land in Bassein (Vasai) because it had a large Catholic community that could possibly produce future Christian Brothers. Br C Whiting (the 1st Principal) and Br C Murphy (often referred to as the 'Shepherd of Bassein') first worked in the English medium section of Thomas Baptista High School, Papdi, while Br O P Gomes located the land at Barampur and supervised the construction of the new school building there. It soon grew to become the most popular English medium school in the entire area. Today, St. Augustine's has nearly 3000 students up to Class 10 and prepares them for the SSC (Maharashtra Board) Exams.
