Edmund Rice Mankara Mission, Wahrinong, in the West Khasi Hills of Meghalaya is the most recent opening of the Christian Brothers. Brothers Kevin Ward, Ruvan Rebello and Paistar Nongrum responded to the need to pioneer community-based educational development in this rural area. After a year of needs assessment, the Brothers have decided to open a school, work of which is presently in progress. They will also be engaged in other community development activities.
